Pricing
How much does Sembr cost?
Essential is $129 CAD/month on annual billing ($169/month on monthly billing). Growth is $249 CAD/month annual ($299/month monthly). Flat per-organization pricing. No per-member fees. No platform skim on Stripe transactions.
Why no free trial?
Pre-launch, we offer demos rather than self-serve trials. Post-launch, trial policy is still being decided. We'd rather get the product right than throw a 14-day clock at someone who doesn't know what they're evaluating yet.
Do you offer a nonprofit discount?
Yes. 25% off both tiers for verified registered charities and 501(c)(3) organizations. Auto-verification for Canada (CRA), US (IRS), UK, Australia, and New Zealand. 72-hour manual review for other jurisdictions.
Are there per-member fees?
No. An organization with 400 members pays the same as one with 75. Pricing is per organization, full stop.
Your data
Can I export my data?
Yes, anytime, in JSON, CSV, or full SQL. The export button is in the dashboard from day one. No support ticket. No exit fee. We treat your right to leave as a feature, not a threat.
Where is my data stored?
DigitalOcean Managed Postgres, in Toronto, Canada. Your data is hosted in Canada, and the exact region is documented in our privacy policy.
Who has access?
Only the staff users you authorize. Sembr engineering does not access tenant data except for explicitly granted support cases (logged + audited). We don't train AI models on your data.
Migration
Can I import from Membee / ChamberMaster / Wild Apricot / Other?
Yes. At launch, Sembr will support imports from Membee, ChamberMaster, GrowthZone, MemberClicks, Wild Apricot, YourMembership, Novi AMS, ClubExpress, and generic CSVs. See how migration works.
How long does migration take?
Most organizations under 400 members complete migration in one afternoon. With Concierge migration (free on annual plans), a Sembr team member runs the import with you over Zoom. Most of that hour is reviewing duplicate-detection results.
Can I keep my Stripe customer IDs?
Yes. Stripe Connect lets us preserve existing customer IDs so saved cards continue to work. We documented this for each supported source platform.
Integrations
What integrations are available at launch?
Stripe Connect is live at launch. QuickBooks Online, Sage, Xero, Mailchimp, Zapier, Google Calendar, Slack, WordPress, and Eventbrite ship in Phase 2 (within 6 months of launch). Salesforce and HubSpot are post-launch. Full list.
Do you have a public API?
Yes. REST API + webhooks with OAuth 2.0 and API key auth. See API docs.
Can I request an integration?
Yes. Every request gets read. We prioritize by customer demand.
Security & compliance
Is Sembr designed to meet PIPEDA and CASL requirements?
Sembr is built to support PIPEDA and CASL: an audit chain on every database write, DSAR fulfillment, a consent log, one-click unsubscribe, and AI opt-out. We name the mechanisms rather than claim a certification we have not completed ahead of launch. Read the security overview.
Is my Stripe data secure?
Sembr never sees your members' card numbers. Stripe handles all card capture and storage on their PCI Level 1 infrastructure. We only see the Stripe token IDs.
Do you have SOC 2 / ISO 27001?
Not at launch. SOC 2 Type II is on the post-launch roadmap. We follow the controls in advance of certification.
The customer promise
What's the customer promise?
Organizations own their data forever. Sembr is easier to start and easier to use than incumbents. AI is grounded and optional, never required. We don't lock you in.
Why are you building this?
The membership platform market is dominated by private-equity-owned legacy products. Their incentive is to extract revenue from captive customers. We're optimizing for the customer promise instead. Read the manifesto.
Who's behind Sembr?
Founder-built in Canada. Not PE-owned. Not VC-funded (yet). The plan is to stay independent.
